Dr. Amber Andersen is a vivacious veterinarian with diverse expertise and experience. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Western University, and Bachelors Degree in Animal Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. In addition, Dr. Amber is currently working on a Master’s in Public Health. This broad training gives her deep understanding into a variety of health and science related topics including animal behavior and training, food safety, disaster preparedness and animal welfare. She has worked in species spanning medicine from African Elephants to Beluga Whales and Companion Animals to Lions!

Based on her diversity, she was offered a unique role developing the animal services program for a proposed public education center in Los Angeles by an esteemed philanthropy, The Annenberg Foundation. This anticipated project will help homeless pets and teach about the linkages between humans, animals and the environment. Dr. Amber is in clinical practice at Point Vicente Animal Hospital in Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca.

Dr. Amber’s professional activities are numerous including involvement in the American and California Veterinary Medical Associations and American Veterinary Family Practice. She volunteers her time for a local animal shelter and takes annual trips to aid the health of rural and underserved communities. Dr. Amber is exceptionally comfortable with the media and public speaking. She brings additional prestigious credentials by being one of only a handful of Certified Veterinary Journalist in the county.

With her comprehensive skills and capability, Dr. Amber is now available for spokesperson and consultant services to advise the media, business/industry and philanthropic entities on numerous topics.
